Sorted!

Before and after photos of 3 spaces in one home- from chaos to peaceful and functional.

THE THIRD BEDROOM

But where's the bed? Someone actually sleeps in it! Not very peaceful. Not a good place to feel rested.

Wow, SORTED! created a room with character, comfort and space! Can you believe this photo is shot in the same room from the same direction? It is. Damn fine work team!

We introduced drawers that were unused in another room.

Carpet! We can see carpet! It's a whole new place to be now. Aaaah. And no moving house (which *was* once on the agenda).

LINEN CUPBOARD

While we were at it, we re-jigged the linen press/storage cupboard in the hall too. That was after we'd moved the suitcase that was blocking the door... it was a bit tricky getting to the towels before then... (view is through to the third bedroom).

"honey, where's the toilet paper....?" There's some serious cramming happening here.

Now Zoe and Garth can see what they need and access it

Zoe and Garth live in a large terrace home in Sydney's inner west. They have a gorgeous 11 month old girl and 3 dogs. In Zoe's words they have "SO MUCH STUFF!"

Zoe said: "2 of 3 bedrooms and a whole garage are full-to bursting with stuff, and our office seems to be getting smaller. Our house needs repairs and its very dangerous with our baby pulling things over."

"As for sorting out lives, out of a possible 7 rooms, 4 are almost entirely devoted to crap, and all our storage is taken up with equally astounding amounts of crap. My poor just-walking toddler is restricted in where she can go cause the tumble-down piles are so dangerous!"

I'm keen and equally skeptical... although I'm looking forward to finding the tubs with my baby daughter's winter clothes in! We are super excited and super scared, but we need help, our house is dangerous. My daughter was caught chewing on medication she found in a pile of junk belonging to my husband last night. Its getting dangerous in here!"

When we'd finished...

ZOE said:

"You understood our space and what we wanted to achieve. You understood we realy needed a bum-kick in a positive way. Accommodated our family and uses of our belongings and rooms. Can't think of anything else we could have wanted!

You have helped us make fast and affirmative decisions on things we didns't need to keep around. You gave us a great point from which to continue cleanliness and also so we can begin renovations an ease into a bigger family life much simpler."

GARTH added:

There's nothing quite like *focus*. Thanks for keeping us from being distracted! Big relief not to be pushed too hard on what to do with particular objects. I was initally worried about that, but it turned out to be a non-issue. Upstairs looks *amazing*

We asked what SORTED! could do better...?

"Bring some carpenters, install shelving, and give us a big whopping flat screen telly! I thought not :-) Really, I can't suggest any changes. Was tops. Ask me in a few weeks, but it looks great. (I still can't quite believe that third bedroom!)"

BABY'S ROOM

Baby wants to play, but her room offered no floor space. Toys and supplies were all over the shop. All this meant a stressful time for mum and dad. This room can be organised a whole lot better (starting with moving that tallboy to the master bedroom).

Once upon a time....

there was clutter everywhere...

before
...and no order to be found......but AFTER the organising fairies came and waved their wands, everyone lived happily ever after! There was a user user friendly place to dress, change and access toys.

The "stuff" in these before photos have been dealt with - sent for repairs, donated to family, friends or the oppie, posted on E-bay, placed in a newly created "home" (practical, ornamental or sentimental), put in the wash, recycled or sent to god! Items have not been shuffled away for a photo opportunity. These photos are an accurate representation of someone's space before and after SORTED's visit. These photos represent hours of hard work: hands on re-ordering and decision making about the things that help make someone's history. There's much mental, emotional and physical effort in creating the "after". And much expertise in the design of where these things "live" from now on.
