Do you know how to get a great result in a limited timeframe for your client?  Are you across the pitfalls and common mistakes?  Do you know how to deliver exactly what your client needs?  What must you never do during a consultation?  What specific skills do you need to bring to the role? How much should you charge? What about forms, insurance and retaining clients?


Only SORTED! training units 1-6 offers all you need to succeed:

  1. 1.Interactive, fun classes leaving you with plenty of tips and tricks to use with your clients.

  2. 2.Small group sizes: no more than 10 students so you have the opportunity to maximise your learning experience.

  3. 3.Content covering both domestic and business consulting.

  4. 4.Content suitable for start up or experienced organisers. Please see prerequisites within each unit for further information.

  5. 5.Upon completion, credits towards accreditation with AAPO.

  6. 6.Upon completion, a certificate and tax invoice.


Delivery

Unit 1

Full one day intensive class delivered in person in Melbourne. Only 4 classes a year. Book early!


Units 2-6

One hour classes, delivered online via Skype. Students will be able to interact, ask questions, and view the content via your computer. You will need:

  1. a computer with Skype installed.

Unit 1: Consult with confidence
You will learn how to confidently consult with any client and achieve a great result in a limited time frame.  You’ll also receive valuable knowledge about running your business.


This intensive one day course teaches you how to successfully consult as a Professional Organiser. Participants learn valuable information and develop crucial skills from one of the best in the business.  You will leave this course equipped to consult with confidence as a Professional Organiser. You don't have to learn the hard way: this course will fast track your success.


Learning Outcomes:

  1. understand the fundamental skills, knowledge and experience you need to consult as a Professional Organiser

  2. debunk common organising myths that both you and your clients have

  3. explore OH&S issues and possible outcomes.

  4. identify what can and can't be achieved during a set time frame

  5. identify your client's situation and needs

  6. raise awareness of achieving a good result for your client (and therefore earn repeat business and referrals)

  7. explore different methods for achieving a good result

  8. explore planning and time management skills

  9. understand wrapping up and post session procedures

  10. put into practice the techniques learned throughout the day using real life photographic case studies

  11. understand the crucial doʼs and don'ts when consulting

  12. feel "I can do this" and feel confident about consulting.


Unit 2: So You Think You Can Organise?

This one hour class tests your organising mettle so you can deliver better services to your clients.  This class shares creative tricks and tips. Learning outcomes:

  1. test your problem solving skills

  2. learn creative ways to fix your clients bugbears

  3. improve your technique.

30 questions and 30 answers - all delivered on line, many with visual examples.


Unit 3: PO General Knowledge

This one hour class allows you to test and expand your general knowledge relating to organsing and decluttering.  Lissanne will share many informational tricks and tips.  You will increase your tool kit of knowledge when consulting with clients. Learning outcomes:

  1. super useful, practical info you can use on the job.

  2. flex your head: exercise that brain muscle!

  3. improve your general knowledge to benefit your client.

30 questions and 30 answers - all delivered on line, many with visual examples.


Unit 4: Dear Lissanne

This one hour class enables you to unleash your wildest questions! Lissanne will provide answers about what it's like to work as a Professional Organiser.  Freestyle session, informal, and designed to explore questions in depth if necessary.  Submit your top 3 questions 24 hours prior to the class commencement. Learning outcomes:

  1. a minimum of 3 questions relating to the Professional Organising industry will be answered and discussed in depth

  2. learn answers to your most important questions

  3. feel better equipped to work in the industry.


Unit 5: Personality Crisis

This one hour class gives you an overview of some basic personality types you might encounter working as a Professional Organiser. Five personality types are explored and character traits are discussed.


Learning outcomes:

  1. explore different personality types leaving you better informed to consult with a range of people

  2. raise awareness of common catch phrases and issues potential clients present with.

  3. be informed and be prepared even if you have little consulting experience.


Unit 6: More Case Studies

PLEASE NOTE: THIS CLASS IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO GRADUATES OF UNIT 1.

Using a series of photographs of real life client situations, this one hour class provides you with valuable consulting experience.  What's your strategy in each situation? Apply what you’ve learned in Unit 1 and then find out what really happened on the job and see the after photos.


Two case studies are explored in each one hour class.  Case studies are one of the most popular element of Unit 1: Consult with Confidence. The case studies are designed to put your learning to the test, are challenging and fun.


Learning outcomes:

  1. test your strategic skills

  2. explore diverse, real life client case studies.

  3. feel more practiced in dealing with any type of client.
